3. Submitting Petitions

PREPARATION FOR SUBMITTING

  1. Once you have filled up the signature sheets, they must be stapled together with a complete copy of the initiative on top (page 1), the petition signature sheets (pages 2 - 5), and the certification form (page 6) in that order. There needs to be all six pages.
  2. If you have downloaded your petition from this WEB site, the 6 pages have already been numbered for you. However if you are using a petition obtained from another source, you will need to follow these instructions:
Each page must then be sequentially numbered starting with the number one (1). Count how many pages there are. There should be 6: the initiative is page 1, the petition sheets pages 2-5, and the certification is page 6. So, you’ll have Page 1 of 6 for the first page, page 2 of 6 and so on. The Clerk or Registrar of Voters will not accept a petition unless each page is numbered.
  3. The certification page must be the last page and MUST be signed before a person authorized by law to administer oaths in the State of Nevada (a notary public). DO NOT fill out the page or sign it until you are in front of the notary. If you cannot get a notary on your own, you’ll be given instructions on where to find a notary and who to turn everything in to once you’re finished.
